The earth rotates about 1000 mph. By comparison, the moon rotates about 10 mph.

    So, from that we can quickly calculate that the circumfrence of the Earth must be about 24,000 miles, right?

    The Earth's Circumference is 24,901 miles (40,075 km) and the Moons by comparison is only 6,784 miles (10,917 km).
